Cuyahoga Valley National Park

Cuyahoga Valley National Park
Blue Hen Falls

Cuyahoga Valley National Park is a natural oasis between the urban areas of Cleveland and Akron. The 1969 Cuyahoga River fire made this region a powerful symbol of the devastating effects of industrial pollution on the environment. At this refuge, native plants and wildlife flourish. The Cuyahoga River passes deep forests, rolling hills, and vast farmlands. Visit the park’s waterfalls, rugged gorges, and go leaf peeping in autumn.

Blue Hen Falls
From Boston Mill Visitor Center, follow the 3-mile Buckeye Trail. After a 580-foot change in elevation, you’ll have great views of the 15-foot waterfall. The water cascades from a couple sandstone shelves.
Leaf Peeping
The best fall colors in Cuyahoga Valley National Park are during the third week of October. Peak color is most vivid when there are warm sunny days and cool frost-free nights. Maple trees display spectacular reds, yellows, and oranges.
